Kinsol Trestle

Saturday we arranged to have lunch with friends Doug and Nancy at The Lakehouse at Lake Shawinigan.  It was about an hours drive from our place and the forecast called for rain early but clearing later in the morning.  It should have only been cloudy by the time we got there however the rain decided to hang around a little longer than forecast.

We arrived a little early so we could walk the Kinsol Trestle before we met up for lunch.  We started out our walk with a slight driizzle which soon turned to mist and then finally just overcast which provided some interesting light for pictures and an umbrella and rain gear kept us mostly dry.

It was a mostly sunny day by the time we headed home.  The combination of fog, low cloud, rain, mist and sun seem to be the typical west coast day.  Takes a little more flexibility in planning the day as well as some faith that the skies will clear.

The Kinsol Trestle is the first in a series of old railway trestles many of which have been turned into great walking and biking trails.  We had hoped to do a short hike on the other side which would have taken us down to the river but the weather had other ideas.

We had a great lunch with Doug and Nancy whom we hadn't seen for awhile.  They were actually off to Winnipeg the next day while we have another week on the Island and then a slow drive back to Manitoba after that with stops in Lake Louise and Lethbridge.  At times it seems like we have been on the road forever.
