A few miles from our place is MacMillan Provincial Park which contains a couple of short hikes in the rain forest called Cathedral Grove.
Walking through the silence of the forest is both beautiful and eerie at the same time. The darkness from the forest canopy makes it really hard getting much contrast in the pictures especially with the dominant colour being various shades of green.
A few years ago a huge windstorm came through the area and threw the huge trees around like matchsticks. They now litter the forest floor, slowly decomposing and providing nutrients for future growth.
That's it for Cathedral Grove. Im falling a bit behind in my blogs but its a rainy day today so time to get caught up.
