A drive thru northern Arizona

The past month since my last post has been a busy one.  We left Gold Canyon April 5 and saw some beautiful sights on our trip home. This is the first chance I have had to look at my pictures since our arrival back in Oakbank.  How could I possibly be so busy you might ask.  Well back in February we bought a new house in Oakbank.  The house is not yet completed so since we arrived home we have been busy working with the builder picking our finishings and upgrades.   I think we are pretty much done with all that, at least I hope so.  Possession is July 10.  We also had to get our house ready to put on the market and I will hopefully have some good news on that front shortly.  Then of course there is the required medical appointments and completion of  income tax.

So now I have 2 main priorities.  Tackle the massive backlog of pictures from our travels and then prepare for our upcoming trip to Iceland.  Really looking forward to that although that means the picture backlog will grow.

Northern Arizona is filled with dramatic landscapes and here are a few from our drive from Flagstaff to Page, Az.

Desolate but beautiful

Saw these hills along the road and hit the brakes to capture them.

Lots of native vendors along the road.
This one is long since deserted but has a great backdrop.

A gorgeous overlook along the highway.

This time the roadside pullout provided plenty of retail therapy.

Got into Page and this was our view from our hotel.

Next up some shots of the sunset at Horseshoe Bend just a few miles outside of Page.
