Iceland May 26/25 Day 1

This past spring we took a trip to Iceland.  As usual it has taken me a while to get to editing the pictures but here it goes.

After a sleepless night on a plane that was too hot and seats that were well worn and far too close together we arrived in Reykjavik.  It was 8:30 AM their time but 2:30 AM our time and we were unable to check into our hotel until the afternoon.  We checked our luggage and spent the morning walking the streets.

We found the famous Rainbow Road and the Hallgrimskirkja Church.  We had breakfast at the Loki Cafe and were able to check into our hotel around noon.   That afternoon we had booked a walking tour of Reykjavik so we grabbed a much needed nap before heading back out.

Our favourite restaurant.

I challenge you to pronounce the street name

We found a great bake shop with very colourful exterior decor.

Snowbird 25/26 Sunset at Gold Canyon Pool

Another Arizona sunset and a shot of the 9th green with Flat Iron off in the distance.  Ho Hum....

Snowbird 25/26 Gold Canyon Christmas Lights

Our GC photo group took a little stroll through our park on Wednesday to capture some of the beautiful Christmas lights adorning our little homes.

Here are a few of the captures I got.

Snowbird 25/26 Mormon Temple Christmas Lights

Each year the Mesa Mormon Temple puts up an elaborate display of Christmas lights.  We have been there a few times and decided to make another visit on Monday night.

Snowbird 25/26 Windmill Winery - Florence, Az

The Windmill Winery in Florence was having a Christmas craft sale so we took Barb and Mick for an outing and lunch.  A beautiful place for a relaxing afternoon.  The wine was pretty good too which helped with the relaxing part.
